20 Chickens In A Big Fun Bag!!!

Break your youth group up into 4 team (depending on the size
of your youth group you may use more or less chickens) All you need to do
is get 20 Chickens rub Vaseline all over them and put them in a bag...take
a stick/bat (whatever) and proceed to beat the bag for about 7 to 10
minutes...open the bag and set the chickens free. Now watch out...these
chickens will be dizzy and running like crazy. The team that catches the
most chickens wins.
To add a bit of craziness you can paint the fastest chicken red and the
second fastest blue and award more points for those chickens.

Um,
I'm not sure purchasing 20 of God's creatures just to beat them and then
chase them around after you've beaten them is the best idea for a youth
group. Remember, the reason we're on this earth is to glorify God in all
that we do, and I don't think that beating chickens and chasing them is
the best way to glorify God, or be an example to the young people you're
leading.

If you have 20 LIVE
chickens ina bag and beat the bag w/a baseball bat I can almost guarantee
you will not have 20 LIVE chickens come out of the bag. This game wouldn't
even come close to working and it sounds to me like it's something someone
made up just to watch other's reactions (maybe not, maybe they really do
this....I don't know)

I can't believe this game is
even posted on this web site! I definitely don't think beating chickens
for fun is a good idea or a good example for youth. Please remove this
game idea before someone thinks about actually doing this game with their
youth.

I
am also appalled at this game posted under christian youth group fun. This
is a violent act towards animals and anyone who calls themselves a
christian, and really is one, would not do such a thing. God teaches love
of fellow man including animals. We are to have dominion over them. That
dosen't mean we beat them for fun!!

and then tell them the rules....that's the joke...do not really play...

Do you have to
use chickens or can you use kittens and puppies? come on guys no one in
their right mind would play this game. the person who posted the game is
probably reading your replys and getting a good kick out of the replys. I
know I am....

I think kittens would be ideal. After all, they just grow up
to be CATS! I can't wait to play this the first day of school, with my
junior high class. Here in Oklahoma, we use fightin' chickens!

I can't believe that this is even listed as a game idea!
What message are we giving to our students? What happened to the idea of
"good clean fun". There are so many fun things that we can do without
compromising our integrity!!

I especially like the idea of painting one red and one blue.
But I think that you should combine this game with the idea of a pinata.
Hang the bag up and then beat it, and the team that actually bust the bag
open will get points added on top of the ones from collecting the dizzy
scared chickens.

Now I
have heard of games that are wild and crazy, but this is pretty
unbelievable. If we saw one of our students hitting a dog with a bat for
"fun" and then watch them chase it around for "fun," I hope we would stop
them from tourmenting the dog. Isn't this the same for chickens? I'm
pretty open to trying any game, but this is definitely not one to
recommend to any youth group. It sounds like a game someone invented at a
fraternity house while being intoxicated.

This is a great idea for youth events, which I
believe was first played by Norfolk famers here in the UK in the 17th
Century. It is commonly played by all self respecting church youth groups
and is called 'Slippy Pig'.

Hey
Guys!
I'm with james. This is just a joke...we have got to lighten up :) Kids
these days love the shock effect, I guess now is a good time to learn how
to respond. No one is really going to stick 20 chickens in a bag, grease
them up, beat them for 10 minutes, then try to catch them. Give our youth
more credit than that, someone will stand up for the right thing.

OH
BABY you aint going to believe this. A game created for the millennial
generation. We call it "CBFB 2000" (Chicken Big Fun Bag 2000). We have
made some modifications since last time. Imagine the same game but to add
we put dirty diapers on the chickens (please refer to game 569 in the YS
Message Boards: Games and Crowdbreakers section). After a student (or
staff) catches a chicken they get bonus points if they can smell the
diaper (while still on the chicken) and correctly tell us what candy bar
we smashed in it. (This also works with Jell-O, Pudding or super glue
(giving the name brand, of course, to win the points). To add a hint of
excitement you could play this game by blindfolding your students and
playing near a lake or a road with heavy traffic (spin the kids around so
they don't know where they are at...this is hilarious!) When the evening
comes to a close BBQ the chickens and give the students toilet shaped
coffee mugs filled with Mountain Dew or Yellow Gator Aid. You could also
serve them Twinkies dipped in chocolate pudding and rolled in corn.

I can't believe how
people are overreacting to this. Don't you ever eat chicken. Which is
worse killing, cutting, cooking and eating a chicken or just having a
little fun with it. Some of you need to either lighten up or go into
Senior Adult ministry.
What I look for in a game is one that will have the students talking
about it at school. This definitely qualifies!

My idea
is to forget the chickens and sew together two GREAT BIG sheets to make a
gigantic pillowcase and stuff seventh graders in it at the first meeting
of the year. Paint the loudest boys red and blue and then beat away! Have
points taken way if they lose conciousness before the team can catch them!
I know my senior highers would line up at the chance for a shot at little
brothers and sisters!

I would seriously question someone's "call"
into youth ministry that would suggest such a thing about the precious
lives that has been entrusted to them.

I
agree that some so-called yms just need to loosen up. anyone with sense
would realize this was a joke and even attempting it would get you locked
up and fired. The dude who wrote this is probably a good ym because of his
wacked sense of humor, kids did that. I know I am the ym of 40 crazy
teens.

so you're saying we shouyld promote violence
among the youth that God has entrusted to us, even though we fight not
against the flesh. I'm wondering if you have been called at all. I suggest
you reexamine your own relationship with Jesus before you continue leading
kids astray.

I'm almost ashamed that there are this many gullible people
in youth ministry. Do you honestly think someone is being serious. I am
still in school for youth ministry but I didn't realize that when you
actually enter the ministry you become illogical thinkers who have no
grasp on reality or humor for that matter. The author of this is probably
just sitting back and laughing their butts off at the people who actually
take this seriously. To be honest, I don't know if the game is funnier or
the ridiculus responses to it. Come on Youth people...GET A GRIP!!!!!!!

It is a funny joke, and the YMs with the dimestore senses of humor make it

worse, the one who wrote the chicken joke in the first place or all the

It sends a very wrong message to young and impresionable
kids. Not only kids but anyone. The Lord wants us to be caretakers of this
earth and all that is in it. I know that we kill animals for food but this
is a necessary thing for our nutrition. It is just cruel to torture any
animal. What if the rules were reversed and there were someone who had
rule over us and they decided to treat us in the smae manner for their
folly. Again I say this is not the message to send to others.
